Moon Man’s NFL Mock Draft 5.0
Round 1
1. Cleveland Browns draft USC quarterback Sam Darnold.
Every Mock I’ve done has Darnold as the #1 pick. His upside and Cleveland’s trade for Tyrod Taylor speak to him learning in year one. If Tyrod wasn’t on the roster, then Baker Mayfield or Josh Rosen would have been a viable pick at #1.
Im staying pat with Darnold as the #1 Overall Pick in 2018. Which is something I can’t say for the fourth overall pick.
Quarterback Depth Chart: Tyrod Taylor, Drew Stanton, Sam Darnold.
2. New York Giants draft Penn State running back Saquon Barkley.
This offense is a Fantasy Masterpiece? Not so fast. The Giants still need to sure up their offensive line and add depth at the receiver position in the later rounds. They are a step ahead of last year considering Brandon Marshall looked washed up and their oline is better with Nate Solder. 2017 looked promising with Evan Ingram selected in the draft. 2018 will actually reward Fantasy Football owners for sticking with the Giants. If they add a running back in round 1 or 2.
3. New York Jets draft UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen.
Quarterback Depth Chart: Josh Mccown, Teddy Bridgewater, Josh Rosen, Christian Hackenberg.
4. Cleveland Browns draft Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward.
Week 1 starting cornerback! Huge upside and needed with Mccourty and Haden gone.
5. Denver Broncos trade down with the Arizona Cardinals. The Broncos get picks #15, #47, #79 and a 2019 4th round pick. The Cardinals get pick #5 and #133 in this year’s draft.
Arizona Cardinals draft Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield.
6. Indianapolis Colts draft N.C. State defensive end Bradley Chubb.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers draft Florida State defensive back Derwin James.
Rumor mill has the Buccs interested in Florida State defensive back Derwin James but (https://chopchat.com/2018/04/22/fsu-alums-derwin-james-right-turn-private-workout-bucs)
8. Chicago Bears draft Virginia Tech hybrid outside linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.
Edmunds is an immediate impact player for a Bears team that needs help on the front line. Akiem Hicks was a bright spot the past two season. The addition of Edmunds give the bears a pass rusher in the line which they need. It also give them a starting outside linebacker. Along side Leonard Floyd, Sam Acho, Danny Trevathan, Nick Kwiatkoski and Aaron Lynch.
9. San Francisco 49ers trade down with the Buffalo Bills. Bills acquire pick #9 and #74. 49ers acquire pick #12 and #53.
Buffalo Bills draft Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen.
Buffalo Bills Depth Chart: AJ McCarron, Nathan Peterman, Josh Allen.
10. Oakland Raiders draft Notre Dame offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey.
McGlinchey will start at right tackle with the possibility of moving to left tackle in 2019. Depending on veteran Donald Penn’s status.
11. Miami Dolphins draft Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith.
12. 49ers (via Buffalo) draft Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick.
13. Washington Redskins draft defensive tackle Vita Vea.
14. Green Bay Packers draft Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley.

26. Atlanta Falcons draft Alabama defensive tackle Da’Ron Payne.
27. New Orleans Saints draft Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson.
28. Pittsburgh Steelers draft LSU edge/linebacker Arden Key.
29. Jacksonville Jaguars draft Georgia offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn.

31. New England Patriots draft South Carolina tight end Hayden Hurst.
