Moon Man’s Fantasy Football Chronicles: “2017 WILD WILD AFC West Fantasy Football Outlook”
Kansas City Chiefs
To my surprise Im feeling more comfortable with Spencer Ware as Fantasy Football League Drafts approach. He has produced when given opportunity. With Marshawn Lynch, C.J. Anderson and Melvin Gordon in the AFC West. Spencer Ware will not lose his job to rookie Kareem Hunt and the Chiefs will give Ware the most touches. Maybe not 300 touches but if healthy. Spencer Ware is worth a look in rounds 4+. Playing a full season in that explosive offense will mean spreading the rock around. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce are still the best options in the WILD WILD WEST!
Los Angeles Chargers
Melvin Gordon should get 300 touches. The clear cut number 1 running back in San Diego? This team is still the same. The wide receiver position is interesting and Keenan Allen would be the only #1 wr here. Dontrelle Inman is good but only DFS, Travis Benjamin is super fast but a total WTF and Tyrell Williams filled in nicely last season. Plenty of options to give a fantasy owner a headache. Add Mike Williams from Clemson into the mix and he will see targets simply for being drafted in round 1 this year. The whole receiving core will be SLEEPING at one point in 2017.
Oakland Raiders
The Raiders clearly will be using Deandre Washington and Jalen Richard. Moon Man likes 120+ touches/targets for each running back with Marshawn Lynch pulling in 240 touches. Beastmode will be fresh all season. The Raiders will put up points weekly. Riding Derek Carr with this effective and consistent run game will produce fantasy points in 2017 (https://ffphilosophy.com/2017/06/30/fantasy-football-quarterbacks-the-2017-season/). Sleep on that!
Denver Broncos
The Broncos will be using Devontae Booker and Jamaal Charles. The Chargers have Melvin Gordon who somehow solidified himself as a top fantasy running back after 1 good year. The thirst is real for dependable running backs in the fantasy football world. Although a solid running back, C.J. Anderson is not the long term answer for Fantasy Friends.
Jamaal Charles is the Sleeper here. Charles is looking to regain pro bowl form and he will for a few games. A few 20+ DFS performances would be great.
Even with the question of Paxton Lynch or Trevor Siemian? The Denver Defense is what it is regardless of the quarterback. They will put up 30+ points at least 4 times. John Elway selecting Paxton Lynch in round 1 two years ago bodes well for him being the starter in those games. Not to mention Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders have pronounced love for Lynch’s arm this off season and with a year under his belt. Practices and Pre-Games for Trevor Siemian may not be enough come week 1. Trevor would start in New York but it just makes sense to play Paxton Lynch in Denver.
Denver’s amazing defense is still not enough in the AFC West. The NFL is #1 for a reason. Most divisions are competitive and Oakland is in the driver seat. Kansas City is an Andy Reid team and Los Angeles is the question mark.
As Always,
(Teams Going Off + Thoughts Flexed In) = Combination Lineups
May the Fantasy Force Be With You.
