Moon Man’s Fantasy Football Chronicles: A few thoughts pertaining to Football Matchups.
Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers
With Big Ben questionable for week 9 and Landry Jones booty. Moon Man wonders what will occur this Sunday in Pittsburgh. Le’Veon Bell is a good play. Cost a lot but off a bye and home with either quarterback speaks of 20+ fantasy potential. Baltimore gets Steve Smith Sr. back on offense and C.J. Mosley back on defense! Will Kenneth Dixon garner 12-15 touches? Joe Flacco should be able to move the ball through the air with Smith back, Mike Wallace hungry against this rival and Dennis Pitta.
Terrance West will start and in a competitive gameflow. He should move the ball at a 4 ypc, receive goaline work and a few targets. Both defenses could score, kickers will kick but Baltimore would be the team to score a special teams td. Potential 19-10 score with Landry Jones starting entering 4th quarter.
Off a bye week. Sammie Coates is a good play this week if you need a bye week starter. Antonio Brown is over priced in Daily Fantasy Sports. Will Big Ben enter mid way through the game Sunday?
New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins
Ryan Fitzpatrick benched for Bryce Petty? Will it happen? It could in Miami with Ryan Tannehill going bonkers through the air. Potentially feeding Jarvis Landry with double digit targets. Kenny Stills makes 1 big touchdown and thats the sign of Fantasy success for the phins. Devonte Parker is underperforming. Moon Man was high on him in the off season but he is just a big game dart throw nowadays. Last season he performed in the second half coming off injury so maybe there is hope?
The Jets run defense is solid. Jay Ajayi off back to back 200 yard performances is a must start in all formats. Big Game here. Big Implications. Dolphins win, Brandon Marshall gets yac?
Carolina Panthers @ Los Angeles Rams
Are the Carolina Panthers back to 2015’s form? It appears so! Coming off last week’s beatdown of the division rival Arizona Cardinals. The Panthers are poised to make a run. If they can get out to an early lead again. Moon Man likes setting a few lineups with the Cam Newton – Kelvin Benjamin stack or Cam Newton – Greg Olsen stack. The Panthers have a healthy Jonathan Stewart and a defense that just might have addressed the back end issues over their bye week. Moon Man is only rolling with a few Panther’s go off lineups considering the Panther’s dst looked great because of the early defensive touchdown last week. Its the perfect storm as we saw often in 2015. Definitely worth the risk this week.
With that said. Lets come to reality and address the Los Angeles Rams. Case Keenum is average at best and shouldnt beat Carolina’s secondary this week. Kenny Britt’s Fantasy value train has moved along but Tavon Austin should make moves this week. Both wrs are risky plays this week if we think the Panthers are back. Moon Man likes Todd Gurley this week. I mean he has to do something right? Im sure Jeff Fisher drew up a few trick plays over the bye week. Look for Tavon Austin to get touches, Gurley to score a touchdown and a Cam stack to pay off in week 9.
As Always,
(Teams Going Off + Thoughts Flexed In) = Combination Lineups
