NFL Week 7 Schedule

Thursday Night Football Prediction.

Six weeks in the books and the Green Bay Packers are who Moon Man thought they were. Back in March, I took heat for saying the Packers were not a Super Bowl contender. Saying they miss out on the Playoffs in 2016. Moon Man is staying pat. With that said. Thursday’s nights home matchup versus the Chicago Bears provides what the Doctor ordered for the Packers. A win!

As for Fantasy Football Friends? Moon Man likes the strategy of using players from high scoring games. This week’s Thursday night matchup fits the bill on paper but our eyes show us differently. Who is going to run the ball for Green Bay? The hobbled Eddie Lacy? Ty Montgomery and Randall Cobb? Practice Squad running back Don Jackson? Or newly acquired running back Knile Davis?

It most certainly won’t be Eddie Lacy who is doubtful to play on 4 days rest. Ty Montgomery showed promised and is an excellent DFS play. Randall Cobb is now the only must start in Green Bay! Cobb will see his targets and touches in the double digits for the foreseeable future. Until he himself is over used and injured. As for Knile Davis and Don Jackson? Might as well toss a dart at the board. Chicago does struggle versus the run. Moon Man would start Knile Davis over Don Jackson. Knile was a stash play behind Jamal Charles and he never got enough touches for Fantasy Friends to truly judge him.

With all the commotion at running back. The Packers will rely on Aaron Rodger’s mobility. Now all they need is for Rodgers to make better decisions, Jordy Nelson to keep his feet underneath him and a few different offensive play calls from Mike McCarthy. The Pack need to spice it up or they will be 3 – 3.

Moon Man expects Brian Hoyer and the Bears to come out and exploit the Packers weak secondary. Start with Jordan Howard inside and continue to feed Cameron Meredith and Zach Miller. Alshon Jeffery should be double team and draw the safety over top. As long as Hoyer limits his mistakes. Which he has done well since taking over for Jay Cutler. The Bears will have a shot in the 4th quarter to win.

Game Prediction:

Chicago Bears – 23

Green Bay Packers – 27

Down 23 – 19, with 1:47 left to play. Aaron Rodgers drives the length of the field and tosses a 8 yard game winning touchdown to Randall Cobb.
