Fantasy Player Combinations

Way back in 2007, Fantasy Friends were guided to glory with the Winning Fantasy Football combination of Randy Moss98 receptions – 1,493 yards – 23 tds) and Tom Brady (4,806 yards – 50 tds – 8 ints). Moon Man has thoughts on drafting combinations of quarterbacks with wide receivers and qbs with rbs. There is not a limit on how we can combine our Fantasy selections. The Aaron Rodgers/Jordy Nelson, Big Ben/Antonio Brown, Tom Brady/Rob Gronkowski and Big Ben/Le’Veon Bell combos are obvious. The Fantasy Universe is unknown and other combinations can prove to be rewarding. With lower cost in DFS leagues and in the later rounds for Fantasy owners. Each team has its own combos like above. It changes weekly and schedules are an integral part. Moon Man has thoughts on the Matt Ryan/Julio Jones Fantasy Football Combination for the 2016 season.

Matt Ryan threw for 4,436 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2015. Let’s check out his career stats to get an idea of what Fantasy Friends should expect in 2016.

2014

  • 4,694 yards
  • 28 tds – 14 ints.

2013

  • 4,515 yards.
  • 26 tds – 17 ints.

2012

  • 4,719 yards.
  • 32 tds – 14 ints.

2011

  • 4,177 yards.
  • 29 tds – 12 ints.

2010

  • 3,706 yards.
  • 28 tds – 9 ints.

2009

  • 2,916 yards.
  • 22 tds – 14 ints.

2008

  • 3,440 yards.
  • 16 tds – 11 ints.

Moon Man thinks after reading these stats. It’s clear that expectations for Matt Ryan and Julio Jones as a Top QB/WR combination should be tempered. Matty Ice has only thrown for 30+ touchdowns once in his career. Last year he tossed 3 tds in a single game only 1 time. The Falcons lost that game in Atlanta 24-21 to the Indianapolis Colts. Ryan threw for only 280 yards and 3 picks to go with the season high 3 touchdowns. Regardless of Matt Ryan’s numbers. Julio Jones will still produce but combined with another Quarterback is the approach to be taken. Let’s take a look at combining Kirk Cousins and Jameis Winston with Moon Man’s #1 ranked Wide Receiver Julio Jones.

The Atlanta Falcons 2016 schedule is not a moon walk on paper! Fantasy Football playoff weeks 14 @ Los Angeles Rams and week 15 home to the San Francisco 49ers look promising for Atlanta’s schedule. As for the regular season. Moon Man has Matt Ryan ranked as the #18 QB currently. The #9 ranked QB to pair with Julio Jones is Kirk Cousins of the Washington Redskins. #16 ranked QB Jameis Winston to rotate in based off of weekly matchups. This combination of Julio, Cousins and Winston is attainable through leagues drafts too.
